CPU structure - how does the processor work?

A CPU consists of several elements. The main components of the processor perform different tasks.

Control unit: The control unit, also known as the program control unit or control unit and in specialist circles, the control unit or CU, controls the processing of CPU commands. It receives and translates instructions from processor memory and performs tasks. In addition, the control unit is responsible for coordinating the other components of the processor and the various components of the computer.

Arithmetic Logic Unit: Arithmetic logic unit has the abbreviation ALU for Arithmetic Logic Unit. As the name suggests, the ALU performs arithmetic and logical operations. The ALU is told how to perform this operation by instructions from the control unit, which are sent to the data in the CPU registers.

It is important to know that computers work with a binary system. All arithmetic operations or all mathematical calculations are performed in a binary system.
